Pretty Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District – PLPRD
This district was established per Wisconsin State Statute Chapter 33  to maintain, protect, and improve the quality of Pretty Lake and its watershed for the mutual benefit of district residents and the lake environment.

What is the difference between the Lake District (The PLPRD) and the Lake Association (The PLAA)?

The PLAA-manages all  social activities.

The PLPRD is a government unit.  See legal definition above per Chapter 33 governing Lake districts in Wisconsin, which have a unique blend of powers and governance provisions tailored to fit the needs of the local lake community.  It is guided and operated by those that live and/or own property in the district (these are the voting members of the PLPRD).  The financial direction is determined by the voting members at the Annual Meeting held in August each year.

The PLPRD operations include the following:
1) Maintain and run the high capacity well between lots 22 & 24, which helps to keep our lake’s water level as stable as possible.
2) Monitor the water quality and lake level on a regular basis.
3) Inventory and monitor various aquatic plants and animals, especially invasive species.
4) Prevent and control the spread of invasive species, like Eurasian Water Milfoil , Starry Stonewort, and Zebra Mussels.
5) Land purchase to help control the usage of land within our lake’s watershed.
6) Work towards utilizing our various land parcels in a way that will best protect our lake’s environment and be useful to our members.
7) Maintain (in conjunction with the PLAA), the Community mulch area, playground, farm land, athletic field and  Pavilion structure that is for use by  Pretty Lake subdivision residents.
8) Work with the DNR to better understand how to enhance our fisheries and improve the lake’s water quality.
9) Provide a committee to help build and strategically stock fish in Pretty Lake  and  maintain and enhance the habitat for a variety of fish.
10) Promote responsible boating, swimming, fishing, and recreational opportunities on Pretty Lake
